5×18: Disbanded Podcast

Welcome back to the ArrowFansUK episode review podcast. Here, we’re discussing “Disbanded”, as Oliver broke apart Team Arrow and turned to the dark side to deal with Prometheus. We talk about how effective that darker turn was, whether Anatoly’s role as a villain was earned, the conflict between Oliver and Diggle, and much more. Continue reading 5×18: Disbanded Podcast

5×17: Kapiushon Podcast

Welcome back to the ArrowFansUK episode review podcast. This week, we’re talking about “Kapiushon”, in which Oliver underwent some physical and psychological torture at the hands of Prometheus. It was pretty great. The flashbacks saw Oliver, Anatoly, and the remaining Bratva members attempt to stop Kovar, and we discuss why it only partly worked. We also mention the recent news of Katie Cassidy signing on as a series regular in season six and talk about how that might work. Continue reading 5×17: Kapiushon Podcast

5×15: Fighting Fire with Fire Podcast

Welcome back to the ArrowFansUK episode review podcast. This week, we discuss “Fighting Fire with Fire”, talking at length about the reveal of Prometheus and why it didn’t work as well as the show clearly wanted it to. We also break down Thea’s arc, Felicity’s decision to go into the darkness, an underwhelming Vigilante vs. Prometheus fight, and the quote that is quite possibly the greatest line in Arrow’s 107 episodes. 5×14: The Sin-Eater Podcast

Welcome back to the ArrowFansUK episode review podcast. This week, we discuss “The Sin-Eater”, an hour that saw the return of three female villains – China White, Cupid, and Liza Warner – with minimal success, instead finding its strengths in other aspects. That includes Thea’s Moira-like act, the return of tension over Billy’s death, and some entertaining – albeit not narratively strong – flashbacks. Continue reading 5×14: The Sin-Eater Podcast

5×13: Spectre of the Gun Podcast

Welcome back to the ArrowFansUK episode review podcast. This week’s hour, “Spectre of the Gun”, was Arrow’s take on gun control, and was presented with minimal success. We discuss why that is and how the show could improve on this type of PSA in the future. In addition, we talk about Rene’s backstory, Dinah’s integration into a somewhat normal life, and Thea’s return. Continue reading 5×13: Spectre of the Gun Podcast

5×12: Bratva Podcast

Welcome back to the ArrowFansUK episode review podcast. This week, we’re discussing “Bratva”, in which Oliver had to deal with two members of his team going to a dark place, his own demons, and the looming threat of the sale of the nuclear device that General Walker stole earlier in the season. Busy times for Oliver. Elsewhere, Quentin was back, and we talk about how great it is to have Paul Blackthorne back on our screens, and we also talk about the flashbacks being in a strong place right now. Continue reading 5×12: Bratva Podcast

5×11: Second Chances Podcast

Welcome back to the ArrowFansUK episode review podcast. This week, we’re talking about “Second Chances”, the episode that introduced Juliana Harkavy as the new Black Canary. We discuss how well her character was integrated, the development of the team thus far, Felicity’s surprising new storyline, some terrific flashbacks, and briefly wonder what Arrow would be like without the other shows in the universe.
